  • Safety Inspection: based on ASTM, MSDS, regulations by law

  • Moisture content: measuring moisture trapped in wooden, or fiberglass boat.. is essential in many cases whether salt defect, or water defect..

  • Damage Survey: ship / boat, cargo, shipment damage survey Induced by ship/shore at fault with estimation

  • Pre-purchase Survey: This is strongly advised when purchasing a new or used vessel / boat, or product, or equipment. Condition and overall operation should be examined as specification according to L/C, or purchase order.

  • Insurance Survey: so the insurance company can determine whether or not the vessel, or cargo, or insured item is at acceptable risk, if so, is it the same as claimed document as per fair market value, and what are the other risks [like fire alarm, fire hose, fire hydrant, electrical wiring, distance from fire department..]

  • Appraisal Inspection: This is to collect information to determine fair market value of the vessel / boat, or cargo, or equipment, or item. This is basically needed for financing, estate settlements, donations, and legal cases, insurance purposes.

  • Damage Inspection: This is to assess the extent of damage, recommend repairs, estimate repair cost, and, or the cause.

Please be advised that the decision made by independent inspector is absolutely an art, based on education [Engineering Degree], experience, observation and research in chemical & petrochemical operation and navigation techniques, combined with handling materials in very safe environment [free risk].

 

Boat Survey                                                                                                Since 1994

Boat buyers require pre-purchase assessment, an external hull survey every 5 years for steel / Aluminum vessels & 3 years for wooden/fiberglass vessels/boats.

Insurance companies require the buyers have boat survey for liability purpose.

  • Moisture content: measuring moisture trapped in wooden, or fiberglass boat.. is essential in many cases whether salt defect, or water defect.. every three years

  • Fracture, stress assessment: this measurement is essential in Aluminum boats.. every 5 years.

FAQ:

I own my fiberglass boat for years, why would I need to have the survey done?

it's for your own, or passenger's safety and is determined by study by major insurance companies to reduce risk. Scientifically wooden, or fiberglass boat absorbs moisture due to mass transfer, this means the amount of moisture outside of fiberglass [in the air for above waterline, and in the water for below waterline will generate a gradient toward inside. [This concept apply in many things around us for instance every tire require pressure adjustment due to pressure loss based on mass transfer.]

this water pushing Specific gravity of 1.025 in best case scenario [the S.G of pure water is 1.000], which means it carries salt that can increase the reaction of defect in wood, or fiberglass boat, and fracture in Aluminum boat.
